How to measure for your jacket

  1. ChestMeasure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, with the tape level across your back.
  2. WaistMeasure around your natural waist, where you would normally wear your trousers.
  3. NeckMeasure around the base of your neck, just below the Adam's apple, leaving one finger of room.
  4. ShoulderMeasure across your back from the edge of one shoulder to the other.
  5. SleeveWith your arm relaxed, measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone.
  6. Back lengthMeasure from the base of your collar down to where you want the jacket to finish.

A Prince Charlie jacket — the short formal Highland jacket, worn with a kilt for black tie, weddings and evening dress.

Nothing here is pre-made. Send us your chest, sleeve and back length and the jacket is cut to those figures, which is what keeps the shoulders clean and the tails sitting right.

Specification

  • Cut: Short bodied with tails at the back, so the kilt is left clear below it
  • Front: Worn open over a waistcoat, in the traditional way
  • Lapels: Satin-faced
  • Buttons: Ornamental silver-finish buttons at the cuffs, tails and epaulettes
  • Lining: Fully lined

Looking after it

Dry clean only. Hang it on a broad hanger between wearings and it will keep its shape for years.
