How to measure for your jacket

  1. ChestMeasure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, with the tape level across your back.
  2. WaistMeasure around your natural waist, where you would normally wear your trousers.
  3. NeckMeasure around the base of your neck, just below the Adam's apple, leaving one finger of room.
  4. ShoulderMeasure across your back from the edge of one shoulder to the other.
  5. SleeveWith your arm relaxed, measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist bone.
  6. Back lengthMeasure from the base of your collar down to where you want the jacket to finish.
  7. HeightYour height without shoes.

Nothing here is pre-made. You send us your chest, waist and back length, and the waistcoat is cut to those figures. That is the difference between one that sits flat under a jacket and one that pulls at the buttons.

Specification

  • Cloth: Acrylic wool
  • Front: Single-breasted and buttoned, with a V neckline
  • Back: Adjustable buckle strap
  • Lining: Fully lined, so it holds its shape
  • Worn with: A kilt, under an Argyll or Prince Charlie jacket — or on its own over a shirt

Looking after it

Hand wash in cold water and hang it to dry. Press on a low heat through a cloth, and keep it away from harsh chemicals so the colours stay true.
